And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to an unfit mind, to do those things which are not proper, having been filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, violent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the righteous requirement of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
Romans 1:28-32 (LSB)
Earlier in the chapter, Paul has just explained that men know that God exists because He (God) has made it plain (evident) to them. But people suppress the truth in unrighteous, and God in turn judges them. “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men (Romans 1:18).”
The passage above comes at the end of this section and wraps up the judgment or wrath of God against these ungodly people. What does judgment look like?
“God gave them over to an unfit mind…”
